Job Responsibilities
Kisan Botanix Limited produces and distributes potato seeds and Gerbera plantlets from its own tissue culture laboratory. We are looking for a qualified and motivated professional to manage our tissue culture laboratory and support production operations.Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the tissue culture laboratory.
- Develop, implement, and improve tissue culture propagation protocols, with a focus on potato and Gerbera.
- Ensure quality control and consistency throughout the propagation process.
- Supervise, train, and guide laboratory staff, ensuring compliance with safety and operating procedures.
- Monitor laboratory inventory and coordinate the procurement of supplies and equipment.
- Identify and resolve technical or biological issues in the tissue culture process.
- Visit production fields regularly to monitor hardening and plantlet growth.
- Maintain accurate laboratory and production records and submit timely reports to management.
- Job type: Full-time
- Work location: Primarily in Dhaka but need to visit and stay in Dinajpur/Bhaluka if required.
Requirements
- 2-3 years of relevant experience in tissue culture, preferably involving potato and/or Gerbera.
- Strong knowledge of laboratory management and tissue culture protocols.
- Ability to maintain a clean and sterile laboratory environment.
- Strong staff supervision, communication, and record-keeping skills.
- Willingness to visit production fields as required.
Educational Requirement
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biotechnology, Agriculture, Plant Science, or a related discipline.
Experience
- 2 to 3 years
- The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Agro based firms (incl. Agro Processing/Seed/GM)
